We appreciate that the seemingly ever changing legislation and technical guidance must be very confusing for clients and their consultants when ever they hear the word ‘Sustainability.’ The word clearly has many meanings at different levels when it comes to ‘proposed development’.

The introduction of Code for Sustainable Homes and the various levels that can be achieved is a daunting prospect and clearly a specialist field. All new dwellings require SAP calculations (Standard Assessment Procedure) in order to demonstrate compliance with Part L of the Building Regulations and when part of pre-development proposals they can be difficult to get right first time.

Trower Davies over the last few years have had to come to terms with how all these issues relate to and influence both the design and cost of individual project.

We maintain close links with specialist consultants and between us determine the best preferred solutions to suit the project and client needs.

We have become fully familiar with the requirements of the Housing Quality Indicators (HQI) that are the back bone of affordable housing design. We have developed expertise in designing compliant room and furniture layouts.

Building for Life Assessments have their own section under the HQI Standards and we are able to provide informal scheme assessments to determine what level a particular scheme would achieve

We have become proficient in the understanding and specification of both Accredited and Enhanced Construction details and can offer clients detailed knowledge along side the SAP Assessor.
